Inspiring Quotes of the Week: Togetherness

Hi there! Another inspiring quotes courtesy of Mr. Peter Shepherd. May you continue to be inspired through out the week.

“Build for your team a sense of oneness, of depending on one another, and of strength to be derived by unity.” ~ Vince Lombardi

As Dinah Craik said “Oh, the comfort of feeling safe with a person – having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away.”

“Love is our true essence. Love has no limitations of caste, religion, race, or nationality. We are all beads strung together on the same thread of love. To awaken this unity–and to spread to others the love that is our inherent nature–is the true goal of human life.” ~ Ammachi

Togetherness is what we do in our life activities to demonstrate the empathy and compassion we feel toward others. This reflects the degree of consciousness we have attained during our lives.

“The intellect always cuts and divides like a pair of scissors. The heart sews things together and unites like a needle. The tailor uses both.” ~Ammachi

Reason and feelings – through which the mind and soul are expressed.

“You and I are all as much continuous with the physical universe as a wave is continuous with the ocean.” ~ Alan Watts

And as Chief Seattle says, “Humankind has not woven the web of life; we are but one thread in it. What we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.”

“Differences in religious beliefs, politics, social status, and position are all secondary. When we look at someone with compassion, we are able to see beyond these secondary differences and connect to the primary essence that binds all humans together as one.” ~ Dalai Lama

Like the Hindu greeting “Namaste,” which Ram Dass translates… “I honor the place in you in which the entire universe dwells. I honor the place in you which is of love, of truth, of light, and of peace. When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, we are one.” Wouldn’t it be absolutely amazing if we could relate to every person who comes into our lives in this way?
Together

For Aristotle, friendship in its highest form has a political or civic dimension. We love our friends not just because we like each other or are useful to each other, but because we share the same values and ideals for our society, and come together to advance those ideals.” ~ Jules Evans

Moral judgement, ethical debate and free choice are essentials in society. Beware of those who reckon they know better than we do how to live our lives, because this is at the cost of practical reasoning, personal freedom and choice.
