From now on, I will update every Wednesday which Dividend Stocks will go Ex-Dividend Next week. This is just a kind reminder for you, of course for me too, so that we can plan ahead which Dividend play (strategy) we will implement.
In order to receive the next scheduled dividend from a stock, you have to own or buy that particular stock at least one trading day before the ex-dividend date. If you decide that you really like a stock and you buy it on or after the ex-dividend date, you miss out. That dividend goes to those who owned or bought it beforehand, and you’ll be waiting until the following ex-dividend date (which could be in a year) before you can collect a dividend.
